This is the autobiography of the late Rev. Thomas Kilgore, Jr., a civil rights leader who helped organize the historic 1963 march on Washington. Among his other noted accomplishments are his service as an advisor to Los Angeles mayor Tom Bradley and becoming the first African American president of American Baptist Churches in the U.S.A. The book includes several of Rev. Kilgore’s most important sermons and speeches.
“A Servant's Journey is a biography that speaks full testimony to Kilgore’s rich life and his deep and fervent faith in God. Highly recommended reading for students with an interest in the American Civil Rights movement—and the life of a truly dedicated man of God.” —Midwest Book Review
