Bolivian immigrant Janet Perez Eckles will be the last woman you would expect to dance for joy.

  • She lost her eyesight at age 31
  • Suffered financial devastation
  • Endured infidelity
  • Lost her 19-year-old son to murder and saw the acquittal of the man responsible

Yet with God’s grace, Janet has learned to dance. Her healing journey has enriched her ability to minister to others as a teacher, group leader, writer, and public speaker.

Janet is the author of Trials of Today, Treasures for Tomorrow: Overcoming Adversities in Life, and has contributed to more than 20 books, including the Chicken Soup for the Soul series and Guideposts. Her experiences have been shared in The New York Times, The New York Daily News, Hispanic Times, The St. Louis Post Dispatch, El Nuevo Dia, and The Orlando Sentinel.

When she is not traveling to her next speaking engagement, Janet makes her home in Orlando, Florida.

"I was so thrilled to have Janet Perez Eckles on my show Motherhood Talk Radio with her inspiring and enthralling message to lift up our listeners. She is funny, engaging, personable and talks about things that give real women real solutions to real problems.  I welcome her back to Motherhood Talk Radio and look forward to bringing her on my other show Military Mom Talk Radio. She is an inspiration to all of us."--Sandra Beck, Motherhood Talk Radio and Military Mom Talk Radio

“Janet, a guest like you makes my job a pleasure! Your presence is your message. You are an energetic, upbeat, friendly, kind, well-spoken, joyous and an inspirational participant and contributor. My other guests and my listeners enjoyed your words, your attitude, and 'the smile in your voice.' You’re a role model for mastering the challenges that life tosses our way.”-- Bonnie, Read My Lips Talk Radio

“I have been hosting the Orlando Matters public affairs show for seven years in Central Florida.  Janet Perez Eckles is easily one of the most interesting and inspiring guests I have interviewed on the show.  Her ability to lift spirits around her is second to none.  What an amazing story of a woman who could have given up, but just refused to, and now she helps so many.  It's an honor to know her.”--Keith Landry, News Anchor/ Reporter, Fox 35 News
